[2-1] 子曰。爲政以德、譬如北辰居其所而衆星共之。
[2:1] The Master said: “If you govern with the power of your virtue, you will be like the North Star. It just stays in its place while all the other stars position themselves around it.”
爲  =  wéi  =  to act as
政  = zhèng  =  government
以  =  yǐ  =  with; therefore
德  =  dé  =  virtue
譬如  =  pìrú  =  for example
北辰  =  běichén  = North star
居  =  jū  =  live, dwell, reside
其  =  qí  =  his; her; its; their; that; such; it (refers to sth preceding it)
所  =  suǒ  =  g.p. (transforms following transitive verb into a nominal phrase describing the object of the verb); actually; place, dwelling
而  =  ér  =  conj. and (joins verbal phraes)
衆  =  zhòng  =  all, masses, people, multitude
星  =  xīng  =  star, satellite
共  =  gòng  = together
之  =  zhī = possessive particle
