The seven stars of the Northern Dipper are mighty gods in Heaven.
Rising, they (assemble) in the morning at the Golden Palace (of the Emperor of Heaven),
Setting, they cover the Kunlun Mountains.
They harmonize the principle with (human) law and moral order and control heaven and earth.
The chief, Dubhe, (with) Merak, Phecda, Megrez, Alioth, Mizar, and Alkaid,
The lofty, supreme Jade Emperor, the Chief Star of the Purple Enclosure,
They majestically cover the heavenly realms, penetrating even the minute specks of dust.
What disaster can they not dissolve, what blessings can they not bestow?
The vitality of the supreme emperor arrives and harmonizes with my body;
The night and day constantly revolve according to the instructions of the Heavenly Seven Stars.
They forever protect and grant long life to the people who reside in the mundane world,
who love the Way, seek the miraculous, and aspire to learn honorable (moral) ways.
We pray that the three stars and the six stars join together with the Seven Stars,
give birth to us, nurture us, and protect our bodies and our lives.
May all swiftly be in accord with the mandate of the Emperor of
Heaven and all his starry retinue!
